So, on the first day of spring I finally finished knitting hubby a heavy winter scarf. I started this in September, for his birthday in November. Better late than never.
I didn't use a pattern, and just did the whole thing in knit stitch, and it's far from perfect. That said, for my first project, I am really happy. Hubby is too.
I've now moved on to my second project, and my first from a pattern. With my slow stitching it should be ready for winter.

It turned out very nicely! I love the colours. It looks great on him.
I always like a fresh new scarf or hat around this time of year because there will still be plenty of time to wear it before it is warm enough to go without, and I'm bored of wearing everything else. At least that's what I tell myself every year when I finish a project in early spring!
Lovely colours - and if your man is happy, then it's a success! Well done, looking forward to seeing your next project. xxx
Well done.

Gorgeous colours and a fabulous creation, well done! x
It's fabulous, darling!!!
There is NOTHING more wonderful than a handknitted garment! It takes usch effort, and is such a loving gesture! Hubby will thrash that, I'm sure...well, whilst it's still cool!

Wow! That looks gorgeously warm and I adore the colours you used.
For your next project, I think you should knit him a onesie :o
Looks like you did a great job - love the colours in the wool too - very nice!
I really love the scarf and the colours suit your man and his cool jacket - he looks well chuffed:). I'm knitting my first item too - finally learned to cast on yesterday and I too am knitting a scarf - fingers crossed I'll be able to wear it this coming winter:) xo
