Valentine

It's been a busy week, what with being back at work and all.

Me and himself had a nice Valentines day though. We didn't go out or anything, like many of you, we make the effort throughout the year, so we don't have to do grand gestures once in a blue moon. That said, we still bought into it to some extent.

We made eachother cards this year. Himself is the more artistic of us, so his come complete with sketches of me and of Alfie. Mine utilised a vintage (dated 1910) French postcard, and my new found hobby of calligraphy. I bought a vintage calligraphy set from eBay a couple of weeks ago, and armed with some books from the library I am reteaching myself this art form.

We bought eachother gifts too. I bought himself a lovely vintage tweed hat, which I'll get a photograph of for you as soon as possible, and he bought me this fabulous pink bowler hat for the summer, and this lovely black vintage handbag.

We've got some nice plans for the weekend, which will hopefully come off if hubby is over his cold by then, and tonight I'm going to attempt to cook enchiladas from the Mexican cookbook I bought earlier in the month. I hope you all have lovely weekends ahead of you, and hopefully see you on the other side.

So nice. I love both your cards. He is a very good at drawing. Your pursuit of calligraphy is most interesting. Looks like youve mastered it quite well. We gave my mother a set for Christmas last year and she says she is enjoying it.

What a charming hat he found for you too! Sounds like you had a very good day.

I love the cards.. who did the cartoon of the dog, that's brilliant. Love your hat... and your glasses. The way the red has blended with your hair looks great. Mike's mum just gave me an ancient Shaders/Toners red ... I bet you remember them, they're sooooo 90s x
