For the love of tweed

So, in my last post I bemoaning my addiction to tweed frocks (by the way Curtise and Vix, you're absolutely right, the same dress in a floral would make a lovely day dress) and lo and behold, here's me in a tweed dress.
Shoes - Next; Tights - Primark; Dress - Vintage
It's not just any tweed dress though, it's my favourite dress in my whole wardrobe. It's a 1960s frock which I bought in Edinburgh, 5 years ago. It was about 2 sizes too big when I bought it, but I could see the potential. I had it tailored, and now it fits perfectly. Proof as to why you should never discount a vintage frock just because it's too big.

Having recently fixed the zip my dress is back in action, and enjoyed a trip out to work the other day. I'm so happy it's back in action again. Here's a couple of pics of when I've wore the dress before, both images taken around 2 years ago.

I'm so glad you had that dress tailored. It looks wonderful on you and it would have been a shame to pass it by.

This fits you like a dream and I can't believe you managed to say you actually have a favorite. How can you pick just one?

I'm like Krista - I have LOTS of favourite frocks!
But that one certainly is a beauty, and the tailoring job is perfect, it fits wonderfully and you look gorgeous every time you wear it.
PS. So are you going to make a version of the blue satin dress in a floral fabric? Go on, it would look beautiful! xxxx

You suit tweed so well! I frigging LOVE tweed, but have never had any special luck with it, really. This frock is heavenly, and with your gorgeous tall figure to set it off, it is to DIE for! You are SO glam!!!

It's lovely and it fits so well. Getting things tailored (or doing it yourself) is definitely worth the time/effort. Your shoes are great too.

You my dear are one snazzy lady - just look at those tights! I was admiring a mens tweed jacket not too long ago. More like wishing it was in a boys size.

Great blog, btw! I found you through Loulou
