Dresses, and parcels, and pressies, oh my!

My computer is really playing up at the moment, it seemingly doesn't want me to blog at all. I've had a lovely few days where I seem to have been inundated with gifts, which is always good.

Saturday I decided it was about time that I went and did some charity shopping, it's been a while since I've gone out specifically for coffee and charity shops, and the weather was just nice enough. I opted to wear this tunic/ dress which I found in the bottom of my laundry basket last week. I have no recollection of buying it, it looks home crocheted, but Lord knows how much it cost or how long it's been languishing in my laundry. Nice though isn't it?
Boots - Deichmann; Leggings - ?; Dress - Some charity shop probably;
Coat - Debenhams; Beret - Oasis; Sunglasses - Givenchy
Anyway, once we'd taken Pru for her check-up at the vets (which is why she has a t-shirt on, to cover her operation wound), I set off for a mooch and actually my mooching was pretty fruitful. At one point I thought I was going to be mugged by the OAPs shopping for their summer holidays when I found the delightful O'Neill bag, but you know me and handbags, once I find one I like for £3.49 there's no way I'd be putting it back down again.
Mexican cook book - £1.75; cardigan - £3.49;  O'Neill bag - £3.49;
Vintage knitting patterns - 30p each; Tights - £1.25; Dutch painters book (for hubby) - £1.50
Back at home that evening, and hubby had stopped off at some shops on the way back from the inlaws and bought me this fabulous book. That was my Saturday evening sorted, well combined with a glass of vino, and I'm pretty sure some of the pages have drool on now. There's been some astounding handbags over the years, and there's a museum in Bath that has a massive collection apparently... guess where I'll be heading at some point this Spring?

Then, yesterday I was greeted by a parcel of joy from darling Desiree. My postman was smirking when he handed me the parcel addressed to 'The Flapper' and I couldn't believe the gorgeousness that lay inside.

There were lovely nail varnishes (I'm going to use one of these tonight, I reckon)

The most beautiful vintage girl postcard, and a beautiful Sassy Vamps headdress made by Desiree's own fair hands, in my favourite purples.

Then, there was the Piece de resistance... remember how long I've been banging on about wanting a Cheongsam? How hard they were to come across in my size? Well, Desiree managed it. Just look at this!

I was so excited, it's so beautiful, and... it fits like a dream. I can't wait to show you all, and hopefully it won't be too long before I get an occasion to wear it. I've been such a lucky girl this weekend, and this week I have a week off work, so who knows what I'll get up to.

Ok, I can't believe you left that gorgeous garment to languish in your laundry bin! It looks fantastic on you.

Also nice finds and the thrifts, and also by your man. I too am a vintage handbag fanatic.

And what a gorgeous gift you received from your friend. You must be one happy lady indeed!

with the Cheongsam and your hair you're going to be uber 1920s! Lady Of Mystery hanging out in bars in 1920s Shanghai... that's your next look. Hope Pru's ok, she looks really cute in her T shirt! Love the crochet tunic/dress, down you've rediscovered it, you should wear it more. And I love the O'Neill bag!
