A freeze on style

It's been so cold, snowy and icy this week that the opportunities for anything sartorially interesting have been very few, and very far between. The week has mainly involved me wearing heavy hiking boots and trying to avoid falling over on the treacherous ice, usually whilst some spritely jogger bounces past me, seriously people, what is with jogging in the snow? Anyway, I did have one fun bit of socialising. On Tuesday I met up with some dear friends who I haven't seen in ages, and we had a lovely lunch at the Establishment. I won't give you chapter and verse on The Establishment as fellow Coventry bloggers Lou and Annie Pancake have all mentioned it before. It was a lovely couple of hours though spent catching up with lovely folk in grand surroundings.
Boots - Dr Martens, Tights - Primark, Skirt - Per Una (gifted),
Cardigan - M&S (via charity shop), green top - gifted, vintage scarf - Jacqmar
I managed to don a skirt, although I still had to keep my Dr. Martens on, two pairs of tights and a huge parka over the top of it all... but I'll spare you the images of the poorly coordinated coat, in my view this weather is no time for glam. I'll show you these photos of my new 'Alfie' brooch, which got its first outing.

As well as my well coordinated scarf and clip instead.

That was the highlight of my week as we had such a giggle and so much to catch up on. Aside from that I've been mostly working, although it was pay day today so I did buy some new material for my next sewing project. I've got a week off work in February and I fully intend to amuse myself with some sewing.

I hope you have a great weekend, whatever you have planned.

I know...joggers have been jogging on as I've been trying not to fall over!

I wish I look this stylish in the snow!
I do not know how people are jogging, I can barely walk to work in it!

What a fab snow day outfit, the skirt's just the right length not be dragging in the wet and the new brooch is a beauty.
It's lethal out there, who can't they grit the pavements? xxx

I love that skirt. Looking very 20s at the moment - I think it's the hair. It looks great. I really love the Alfie Brooch too. It's been freexing, although this weekend I didn't have to wear as many layers...
