Lichfield and whowonnit?

It's been a while since I last did one of my Cathedral visits, so despite the foggy, drizzly and generally grey weather, I decided to pay a visit to one today that I'd wanted to visit for some time, Lichfield.
Lovely scenery in Lichfield
Lichfield is less than an hour from Coventry, so I'm not sure why I haven't been before. I must have picked the coldest day of the Autumn so far to go though, so I had to wrap up well in layers, including a vintage Monarch leather jacket that belongs to hubby, and my Dr Martens that I won from eBay earlier in the year.
Boots - Dr Marten; Leggings - ?; Skirt - Primark; T-shirt - Hooch
Denim shirt - Levis; Leather Jacket - Hubby's;
Boots close up - These would fit you Desiree, we're the same shoe size
 Anyway, I arrived in the early afternoon in Lichfield, and after a coffee stop in one of the many coffee shops (every other shop seems to be a cafe) I made my way up to the imposing, and beautiful cathedral.

It stands proud in its own grounds, and I must say was far more beautiful than I thought it would be. The intricate carving all over the outside is breathtaking, and very gothic.

Inside it's full of light, and just feels like the most peaceful place in the world. It really was lovely. I was so pleased I had made the effort to get there.

I finished off the day with a gorgeous pot of tea and huge slice of cherry chocolate cake in the Tudor tea rooms, before heading off home. Despite the pretty gross day, I'd had a lovely day out.

Once I was home I did the draw to find the winner of the Dark Shadows giveaway. Thank you for your entries, and hello to my new followers. Here's the list of entrants (I only award one entry per person so even if you commented twice you will only be listed once)

I used a random number generator, and the winner is miss Ivy Black. I'll be in touch to arrange delivery.

Well done, Ivy!
Loving the grey Docs! I've never seen any cheap ones on eBay and I've been looking for over three years, lucky you!
Lichfield is just down the road from us, the chazzas aren't half bad and I've been in those tea rooms often. xxx

So jealous of those boots, I've been eyeing them up for a very long time! Also, I'm loving the expression of cake glee on your face!

wayhay! go Emma! Lichfield looks lovely, although you know Lich means graveyard, no that name isn't that pretty, although it fits in perfectly with such an impressive cathedral. Love your crazy cake face - the tudor tea room looks right up my street! xxxxx
