A week in frocks

I think this week is probably the last hurrah for British summertime, judging by the fact that the cold nights are creeping in. I'm not disappointed by that, I'm one of those annoying bloggers who adores Autumn and Winter. I always have, it's not a fashion thing, just a preference. Anyway, that said I've been making the most of this weeks' spell of sunshine by trying to get some of my more summery dresses worn before it's too late. So instead of one frock on Friday this week, you get five.

Monday
Dress - Vintage, Cardigan - Marks and Spencer (via charity shop), Bag - Jones the bootmaker

I love this black lace vintage 1950s dress, it's got some hefty holes in it though that I really need to fix. I still wear it, and really I shouldn't until it's fixed. I wore it to run some errands, and Coventry city centre was absolutely packed. It wasn't the nicest place to be either, given some drunken guy came up and asked me for my jewellery and money. He never got it, needless to say.

Tuesday
Dress - Fever, Shrug - eBay, Moody face - Model's own
This was my last day of working in my temporary job. Even though I've only been there 2 months, I was still sad to be leaving, so I thought I would cheer myself up with the bright colours of this Fever maxi dress, which doesn't get nearly enough wear to be honest. In part that is because it's halter neck and they give me a headache, I need to alter the straps and make it into a normal strappy dress, my fix it stash is growing as the week progresses.

Wednesday
Dress - Vintage, Belt - ASOS (via charity shop)

The morning on Wednesday was hectic. We had estate agents booked to come and value the house in the afternoon, so I spent the whole morning cleaning and getting the place 'market ready' so this cool vintage linen number was just the trick.

Thursday
Shoes - Doroty Perkins, Dress - Vintage, Cardigan - M&S (Via Charity Shop)

Thursday it was back into town for me because I was trawling recruitment agencies and shops with my CV to try and find some work. I think this lightweight original 1940s dress is so smart and flattering, and yet cool enough to not over heat in this summer weather. I didn't come away with a job, but I did feel like I had done lots of work to try and get one, so I'm hopeful of hearing something in the coming weeks.

Friday
Dress - Warehouse

So today it's blazing hot, and we're having more visits from estate agents. What could be better than this cool red polka dot Warehouse dress, that I've had since last summer. I love this photo, I know that the glare is all wrong, but I think it makes the image.

I'm looking forward to the weekend, I've got some exciting times ahead meeting up with friends new and old, so I spent a bit of time working on my nail art... nice and simple yes?

Still not as neat as I would like

Have a good one, whatever your plans.

I meant to say your nail art reminds me of semaphore. I like it. I can't believe the pure cheek of these crazy drunks, they do it in wycombe too. Very scary, be can laugh it off but not nice for old ladies.
Anyway, all your dresses are great, I can't pick a favourite! xxx
