Secret Sunday

So, I know, I'm writing a blog post on Wednesday about my night out on Sunday, but the thing is I was a bad Princess on Sunday night, and I drank way more red wine than I should have done, which resulted in a very poorly me on Monday, and a none too clever me yesterday... although I still made my second dance class with hubby yesterday.

So, Sunday I finally finished making my dress, and with little time to spare I pulled it and my delicious new shoes on just in time to be picked up by the delightful Mr and Mrs. R. It's the first time I'd seen Mrs. R since she had some pink put in her hair, and she looked fantabulous. It makes me want to dye mine mega red.

Anyway, we arrived a little early and so parked ourself in what was possible the worse pub in Birmingham. Seriously, it was like something out of a bad spaghetti western and they didn't even have lemonade for Mr. R's shandy. Anyway, we weren't in there too long before we were setting off to 'The End' at Birmingham Ballroom for the Secret Sunday Burlesque show. We were meeting Mr and Mrs. W there, and soon we were all perched (literally perched, those were some high and pretty uncomfortable stools) waiting for the show to start.

It was a good show on the scale of Burlesque shows. They can be really hit and miss and whilst this wasn't the Candy Box, or necessarily as good as the one we visited in Derby, it was still most definitely one of the better ones. The acts were really good and we all had a great time. During the interval there was a music set by the Rockabilly group, The Voodoo Kings. They were great, I had a right bop, which I'm really surprised about given the new shoes, maybe it was because I'd had rather too much red wine.

By the time we left both hubby and I were totally drunk and very jolly. We'd all had a fantastic time, I just wasn't expecting the almighty hangover that hit me on Monday morning... all in a weekend's work.
