Dr In the House

I had a really nice day yesterday. For one, the weather was grand, and secondly I didn't have anything in particular on. My most onerous task was a need to visit the bank in the afternoon, so I thought I'd take advantage of what could possibly be our last mildish day for the forseeable future to don the beautiful vintage tartan skirt that hubby bought me for Christmas (and which he takes great pride in telling everyone, he chose himself without my input) and my floppy (don't wear it in the wind) hat.

I pottered into town and sorted out a little bit of stuff at the bank, and then had a meander around the shops. I bought a nice new necklace in Monsoon and some bits in Debenhams, as well as picking up the Ed Sheeran album for hubby as I know he wanted it. I was home shortly after hubby and unexpectedly we didn't have step-son. We usually do have him on a Friday, but he wasn't very well. Hubby suggested an impromptu night out, and when I asked for suggestions on Twitter, lovely Roisin invited us over to Leamington to meet up with her, Nic, Lauren and loads of other lovely people in the pub. Nic was celebrating having achieved his PhD, which let's face it is huge reason to celebrate.

After a quick visit to the inlaws, we were in Beryl and off to Leamington to meet up with the crowd. It was such a lovely evening, we got to meet some of Roisin and Nic's other friends, and it was a lovely laid back kind of evening spent chatting and laughing until it was time to head home. Sometimes an impromptu night out can be one of the best.

Today we've been having some work done on the house, and aside from a trip to B&Q for more decorating supplies, we haven't been anywhere, which given the sudden drop in temperature, I'm not too disappointed about. The highlight of the day though was a visit by Dr. W who popped in for a cuppa, and brought me two lovely gifts, a vintage leather handbag and a fantastic pill box hat. I think I might wear these tomorrow because they are just too gorgeous.

New Goodies
Hope you're all having great weekends.
